What interests fourth graders? If you asked me, I don’t think I’d be able to tell you, considering fourth grade for me was nine years ago. The list goes on and on, from topics about jewelry, to your favorite food, to what your favorite dog is. Recently, Gianna, Rachel, Kayla, Ava, and Linda came from Bay to visit me at the high school. We sat down to compose an article, and I quickly realized that they had a variety of opinions on many different topics.

Summer is approaching and there are so many things to do. What do you wear when you go hiking? There is such a wide variety of options —  from dresses to bikinis. Being so stylish this summer with your cute outfits, you need to add jewelry, don’t you? You might consider pearl chokers or thumb rings. Which will it be? I believe that teal is the hot, new “it” color for summer — definitely work that in.

Summer also brings along walks with our dogs on the beach, or hiking in Valley Stream. Our group could not agree on their favorite type of dog. This caused them to ask — which is the best type? (add your opinion with our poll)

What is your favorite type of dog?

Being around fourth graders for 40 minutes was surely exciting. These five girls kept me on my toes, for sure. Learning about all these fun and exciting adventures for the summer, had me planning my own next adventure. They had me wishing that I was back in their shoes; all their excitement and energy will bring them to where I am today.
