LeBron Raymone James is a power forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, and one of the undisputed greats of basketball history. James is t
he all-time leading scorer of the NBA’s history, with over 40,000 points under his belt.
And on December 30th, James celebrated his 40th birthday, officially making him the oldest current NBA player. James’ legacy in the NBA extends multiple decades of commitment to the sport and the culture around the game, shaping it in his image for years.
“LeBron’s impact cannot be understated.” as stated by Eason Lin, an avid fan of James. “I mean, there are people who haven’t ever seen a league without [LeBron] in it.”
Even when first starting, James was one of the most exciting prospects of all high school students at the time. James began with his draft in 2003 and signing to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and immediately being voted Rookie of the Year.
James has also been an outspoken political advocate during his time in the NBA, wearing Black Lives Matters shirts at games and consistently speaking out against police brutality within the U.S.
Now, LeBron plays alongside his son LeBron Raymone “Bronny” James Jr. on the Lakers, once again making history as the first ever father-son duo in NBA history.
