Best Supporting Actor: I HAVE LEGITIMATELY NEVER BEEN SO INHERENTLY HAPPY!!! I CALLED IT FROM DAY ONE! Mahershala Ali, what a guy. Out of every performance nominated, it was so clear that his was definitely unbeatable.

Best Makeup and Hairstyling: I can’t believe that I can now make wisecracks about the fact the SUICIDE SQUAD won an Oscar, and films like The Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, and Requiem for a Dream didn’t win a single Oscar.

Best Costume design: Fantastic Beasts! My sincere apologies for not being a Harry Potter fan, but I mean it is quite rad that this is the first one to win an Oscar! Also, I must say, considering the vast size of the cast, the costumes were truly wonderful.

Best Documentary Feature Length: Little did the 1994 world know that O.J. and his story would be so prominent in today’s world. In my opinion, it’s quite incredible, because the significance of such content is so necessary to not be forgotten.

Best Sound Editing: Okay, so, Arrival would not have been Arrival without the incredibly flawless sound, so I am quite happy about this. Also, if this is all that Arrival wins, I will be quite saddened, however, this was well deserved.

Best Sound Mixing: Hacksaw Ridge. War films are possibly one of the most difficult genre of film to achieve near perfect sound, and I can honestly say, both times that I watched Hacksaw Ridge, I took note of how well everything blended into one another.

Best Supporting Actress: This is most certainly not much of a surprise, Viola Davis was an almost certain choice to win, and look at that!! She did. I know that I say that I cry about things a little too often, but no exaggeration, I currently have tears rolling down my face, that speech was just too good.

Best Foreign Film: AHHH!!! I am a bit saddened by the fact that Toni Erdmann didn’t win, but I’m sure that The Salesman was great, I must say that I am most definitely looking forward to watching it as soon as possible!

Animated Short: I mean, considering Piper was the only animated short I saw, I must say it was pretty great, however, my opinion isn’t all that valid because I didn’t see any of the others. Congrats to Disney!

Best Animated Feature: I can honestly say that Zootopia is not my favorite, but considering that it has now won a Golden Globe, and an Oscar, I feel like I should watch it again with a more open mind.

Best Production Design and Set Decoration: Alright, here it goes, La La Land with its first win. Personally, this was the clear winner, the production design and sets of the film were truly immaculate and were a MAJOR idea that the entirety of the film played off of.

Best Visual Effects: Sorry everyone, I did not see The Jungle Book, so I really don’t have much to say (for a change).

Film Editing: Okay, so this category did not have one, or two, or three, or even four films that were clearly in a race for the win. Every single one of these five incredible films were edited in their own unique way, however they all stood out to me personally, everything truly blended together so perfectly in each film, however, congrats to Hacksaw Ridge because war films are so incredibly difficult to edit well!

Documentary Short: The White Helmets was by far one of the most genuinely moving pieces of documentarian work I have ever seen. Being only forty minutes long, it didn’t drag on, it got it’s point across and that point was and will remain to be a necessary message to everything going on in the society we live in today. I truly encourage anyone who has Netflix to please take forty minutes out of your day and watch this.

Best Live Action Short: I feel quite ashamed, but I have yet to see one of these…

Best Cinematography: I have honestly never been so mad. La La Land’s cinematography is truly beautiful. HOWEVER, Moonlight had literally some of the greatest cinematography I have ever seen (and that’s my favorite thing about movies!!). I really don’t know how to feel.

Best Original Score: Okay yes, everyone knew this was going to happen, myself included, and I’M SO HAPPY. I casually know the entire soundtrack, inside and out, because I may listen to it at all times.

Best Original Song: City of Oscars??

Best Original Screenplay: Considering the fact that I read and annotated the ENTIRE Manchester by the Sea script, I must say I am quite happy.

Best Adapted Screenplay: The Moonlight script deserves its own exhibit in the MoMA.

Best Director: I love Damien Chazelle so much. This may be a little harsh, but I can’t even express how eternally grateful I am that he failed as a jazz drummer. Ahhh, this is so cool, being the youngest to ever win Best Director!

Best Actor in a Leading Role: Casey!!!!!!!! When I was sitting in the theatre watching Manchester by the Sea (all three times) I knew that he was going to win. And for every single time I spoke to someone and they told me this movie was boring I truly felt so horrible knowing that they were incapable of seeing the literal art in front of their faces.

Best Actress in a Leading Role: Emma Stone, my love, you did it! I may still be bitter about the fact that Amy Adams was so wrongfully not one of the five incredible woman nominated for best actress, however, Emma Stone’s performance was very well deserving of this win!!

Best Motion Picture of the Year: Oh, boy do I have a lot to say. Just let me preface this with the fact that I LOVE La La Land so much. Okay here it goes. I’m sorry but La La Land did not deserve Best Picture. It should have been Moonlight. The film is so necessary for what we are going through in the world today, it serves a greater purpose than what may be seen by some at surface value. WAIT!!!! Oh MY GOD!! THERE IS NO WAY THAT THIS IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW! MOONLIGHT DID WIN!! I’m pretty sure this is a dream.
