Patchogue Medford has continued to excel in the achievements ranging from athletics, music and arts, and even producing hardworking service members. Considerably, one of the largest achievements at Patchogue Medford High School is achieving high academic standards. This year, we recognize our overachieving Class of 2025 Top 10 students. These students have gone above and beyond to make our school a better community, all while maintaining high averages and excellent academic standing. Now, the Red & Black introduces Patchogue Medford’s Top 10.
Standing at #1, Gaurab Biswas will be attending Stony Brook University majoring in biochemistry. Beyond the classroom, Gaurab has dedicated countless hours to community service through clubs like Key Club where he held presidency. Other activities Gaurab participated in included Math Team, where he maintained a position as president. Lastly, Gaurab was a student-athlete during his time playing Badminton for Patchogue Medford High School.
Next, for the Class of 2025, Issac Varghese represents the #2 stance with pride. Issac will be attending Stony Brook University majoring in biology on a pre-med track. After his dedication in various clubs, Issac was a community service member in National Honor Society. He also was an intern at the Brookhaven National Lab, vice president of the Robotics team, and a Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Independent Researcher.
With a warm heart, Aaron Diamond holds #3 in the Class of 2025 and will be attending Worcester Polytech Institute majoring in biomedical engineering. Aaron Diamond was president of the Red Cross Club, servicing our community with fundraisers and other events. He was also an esteemed member of Patchogue Medford High School robotics team.
Humble and with great purpose, Matthew Terletsky stands at #4 and plans to attend Long Island University in the fall majoring in biology. Matthew, interestingly, was a fencing athlete outside of the walls of Patchogue Medford High School. Additionally, Matthew was also a dedicated community service member in support of a local animal shelter during his time at Patchogue Medford High School.
With great determination, James DiLeo made #5 for the Class of 2025 and is pursuing a career in biomedical engineering at Stony Brook University in the fall. Over the past four years, James has participated in Badminton, placing in the top 10 badminton players in the county. He is also a dedicated member of the Science Olympiads and has been recognized for various academic awards.
Joslyn Jun stands at #6 for the Class of 2025. Joslyn is currently committed to the University of Rochester but is anticipating getting off the waitlist of a school to major in neuroscience. Joslyn Jun became a member of the Letters for Rose, Key Club, and was a board member of our National Honor Society.
With a smile always, Luis Hernandez maintained #7. Luis plans to attend Columbia University, majoring in computer science. He has participated as a member of Model UN and held a position as secretary. Additionally, Luis was president of the French Honor Society, as well as a board member of our National Honor Society. In many of his activities, Luis passionately engaged with his closest peers in these clubs, including Aaron Diamond, Kevin Zheng, and Matthew Terletsky.
Kelly Delgado, a spirited individual, will be attending Stony Brook University majoring in biology. Kelly holds #8 for the Class of 2025 and has participated in various clubs such as Intercambio where she held the position of co-vice president. Kelly was also a member of National Honor Society, giving her time to community service events hosted by our school.
Giving you a run for your money, Allison Guallpa stands at #9 for the Class of 2025 and will be attending Stony Brook University majoring in biology. Allison was a participant of the Intercambio club where she held the position of co-vice president. She was also dedicated to community service through Letters for Rose, as well as her participation in our school’s book club.
Known as “the Yale man”, Kevin Hidalgo holds #10 for our Top 10. Kevin is planning to attend Yale University majoring in ethics, politics, and economics. A passionate debater, Kevin was co-vice president of Model UN and an advocate for Key Club. Kevin became an international trustee for Key Club, representing Suffolk, NYS, and various other areas.
Congratulations, again, to the Class of 2025 Top 10! With their great accomplishments and persistence in academics, these individuals will go on to achieve amazing things. The best of luck after high school and may they continue to represent PMHS with great strength.
