With the end of the year approaching, it’s especially important to recognize the accomplishments of certain clubs at Pat-Med. Especially this year, PMHS has succeeded in beating new records and setting new standards for future classes.
The Patchogue Medford Robotics Team 329 has had an impact on the seniors that have stepped up for competitions and events. Fortunately, from the perspective of various members, the team has been reported to finally revive the robotics team after difficulty increasing participation after COVID-19. For the past four years the team has qualified for team playoffs, thanks to dedicated members.
If you haven’t seen him in the hallways or recalled a smiling face in the hallways, Dylan Nguyen has been a dedicated member of the Robotics Team. With a determination to learn about mechanics and robotic engineering, Dylan has been the designated robot driver for the past four years of the PMHS Robotics Team and was also the president of the team. Gaining inspiration from his older brother, Dylan was motivated to continue his brother’s legacy and bring our team together in competitions.
Nguyen says that he “leaves this chapter completed in the knowledge that I have done more than built robots”, helping rebuild a legacy. As Dylan’s final remarks to his passion, Dylan says, “Thank you Team 329.”
With just as much care for the team, Vincent Ribaudo has also been a major contributor to the PMHS Robotics Team. With an older brother that also previously participated in the club, Ribaudo has spent much time dedicated to these events and competitions.
Ribaudo says that the team has “been such an integral part of [his] time at Pat-Med”.
Vincent says that despite the late hours in lab perfecting the robot after a long day of school could be tiring, it made the team a “home away from home and created bonds between team members [the team] will always cherish”.
Although Team 329 may be missing out on these seniors next year, they were set up for success for years to come. Under the advisement of Mr. Gonzalez and Mr. Pierson, as well as other mentors, the team will continue to strive.
As for the seniors, good luck to their future endeavors and may their passion for robotics never end. They’ve created a family and have dedicated countless hours to the success of such an amazing team. Congratulations!
