Get ready for the event of the year! Halloween can be a fun event, especially when it is safe.
What is Trick or Treat Street, you may ask? Trick or Treat Street is an annual event where Patchogue-Medford comes together to make an interactive event for children and families. As they move their way around the building, kids could win things like prizes, candy, toys and more through games within the classrooms.
Why choose Trick or Treat Street? The school ensures your safety and is a more friendly environment where kids can experience the joy of trick-or-treating without the potential hazards of navigating dark streets. Additionally, all candy given away during the events comes pre-packaged and is allergy approved.
Trick or Treat Street fosters a sense of community and school spirit within our school. Each room is assigned to different extracurricular activities, where older students volunteer to decorate classrooms and distribute sweet treats, while parents and teachers collaborate to create a memorable experience for the children.
We asked Mr. DeMarco, the advisor of the Red Cross Club what was his favorite part of this time of year, and he responded, “My favorite part of Trick or Treat Steet is not only the prep but seeing my entire club come together for a good cause, also being there that night and seeing the community come together for a great cause seeing all the students from all across the district and the smiles on their faces makes it all worth it in the end.”
We asked Mr. Frizalone, the advisor of the Art Honor Society, what he does to prepare for Trick or Treat Street and what are the benefits, and he stated, “Our students made drawings of big pieces of candy, pumpkins and ghosts, so that the children during Trick or Treat Street have a good time. I think that Trick or Treat Street is great, and it’s a really nice option for families every year that kids really seem to love. High school students really like to be helping the kids and It’s a great way to bring the community together.”
