How To Do Your Homework Efficiently
Some tips to help get it done and still have time for yourself
Procrastination. It’s the one thing people cannot stop doing. If you’re like me, you wait until late night to begin your homework because you think you still have a lot of time to complete it, resulting in a grade you probably did not want.
These are some ideas on how to prevent staying up late at night while trying to finish your homework:
Write all your homework down on a piece of paper
Having all the things you need to do in your head makes you skip over some stuff when your rethinking about them. Writing them down creates a visual for all the things you need to accomplish, making you realize how much you need to get done in your allotted period of time.
Start by doing the hard tasks first
By doing this, you give most of your effort to the homework that doesn’t come naturally to you. For example, personally, math and science are my forte, while history class is my least favorite. So, I start my homework with my history assignments so when I’m tired of doing homework, I can breeze through my math and science with no problem.
Give yourself breaks while doing your assignments
When you give yourself breaks in between the time you’re doing homework gives you something to look forward to. So, a ten minute break to watch your favorite YouTuber or show is actually going to help you in the long run.
Get rid of all distractions
During the time between the breaks is “Go Time” so, putting away your phone and isolating yourself allows for you to really transcend in the amount of work you’ve accomplished. Trust me, looking at your phone waiting for a Snapchat from someone is not going to help you finish your homework.
Use essential oils
Essential oils can help you focus while doing your homework and can have a lot of health benefits. If you want to learn more about them, check out this article.
These “life-hacks” help me each day after school when I don’t really feel like doing anything so, give them a try if you can’t stop procrastinating either. Get working!
