A misconception of me growing up in Pakistan is that many people stereotype me thinking I have to wear the hijab, which is a head scarf. And um, basically it depends on the morals and beliefs of the woman. As someone who has lived in Pakistan and as a Muslim, it’s important that when you go on the pilgrimage to Mecca, you should start to wear the hijab. When you are young it’s your decision on whether you want to or not; it is a great commitment and an amazing feeling. Once a woman starts to cover their head with the scarf, they gain a sense of self-confidence, self-love, and protection from the outside world; it represents a woman as pure and innocent, while being away from the dangers.
