Want to have your home smell like autumn and enjoy a sweet treat? Bake this delicious, family favorite pumpkin break.

Delicious Fall Treat, Pumpkin Bread

Looking for a special treat to enjoy after rounds of leaf-raking?  Then this delicious loaf of bread is the way to go. It’s sweet, moist, and overall  — delicious.

It’s the perfect treat to have in autumn. My mom and I have baked this treat together for as long as I can remember. I could never wait for fall to come to bake this treat.  It is the most cherished family recipe.

It is very easy to make, just a little bit or stirring and mixing. Then after putting it in the oven and waiting, it will leave your house smelling like sweet pumpkin spice.

Time: 70 minutes

Prep time: 20 minutes

How much it makes: 3 loaves

What you will need:

  • 1 (15 ounce) can of pumpkin puree
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of vegetable oil
  • ⅔ cup of water
  • 3 cups of white sugar
  • 3 ½ cups of all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 3 7×3 inch loaf pans
  • Optional: 1 cups of mini chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease and flour the three 7×3 inch loaf pans
  3. In a large bowl, mix together pumpkin puree, eggs, vegetable oil, water, and sugar until well blended
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.
  5. Then, stir the dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture until just blended. (If you choose to mix in chocolate chips to the bread, you would add them into the mixture after all the ingredients are blended together). After it is well blended, pour into separate pans
  6. Bake for about 50 minutes in the preheated oven.

Tip:

  • To check to see when loaves are done, insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean it means the loaves are ready to come out.
