“This is my nineteenth year teaching in Patchogue-Medford. I didn’t always plan on being a teacher. I originally thought about veterinary science but throughout school I realized that I wanted to do something with environmental science. In college I did two internships that were education based and those were what really sparked my desire to become a teacher. I love doing labs with my classes because it gets everyone up and moving and really brings science to life. I try to do different activities my students may enjoy and be interested in. Doing labs gets them working and talking so they can collaborate and learn from each other while having fun at the same time.”
