It’s hard to balance the struggles that come with entering an unfamiliar environment like high school, but there is one thing that’s for certain: staying involved with your class is important, and a great way to do that is by becoming a class officer.
Becoming a class officer means you’ll be one of the few representatives of the entire class of 2028! You’ll oversee making important class decisions like deciding the field trips for the year, designing the class shirt, and organizing fundraisers.
As the secretary for the class of 2027, I can attest that being an officer is a great opportunity to interact with the people in your class and to further promote class involvement.
There are 5 class officer roles that you can run for: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian.
The President must work alongside the advisors to organize class meetings and run them.
The Vice-President works with the president to ensure everything previously mentioned goes according to plan and to fill in for the president when they aren’t available.
The Secretary must take attendance during meetings and remind the class when and where the meetings are.
The Treasurer controls the finances of class gained from school events in the treasury office.
The Historian takes pictures and documents school events.
The election takes place on November 25th, but there are many procedures you must follow in preparation for this important day!
November 7th – Mandatory Information Meeting at 2:30 in Rm. 284
November 14th – Nomination Forms due for those who wish to run for office
November 15th to November 22nd – Campaign Week
If you have any questions about officer elections for the class of 2028, please contact the General Organization advisor Mrs. Sullivan in room 284. Hopefully you’ll consider running for a class officer position for the class of 2028!
