Mean Girls has been a fan favorite amongst all age groups since it came out in 2004. Throughout the years, Broadway has created Mean Girls the Musical in 2018 and hasn’t failed to make the loved 2004 film an even better adaptation of the movie in musical form, along with the movie adaptation of the musical that was released in 2024.
With this year’s school musical being Mean Girls the Musical, what better way to showcase the musical than hearing the experience from our school’s cast.
Senior, Abigail Caravella, who plays Cady Heron, has been doing musicals for the school since she’s been here and is loved all around the music department for her talented personality. “This experience has been so amazing. I love spending time with my friends while building a character through my interpretation of Cady. It’s been crazy that this is my last show here because I spend so much of my time here at rehearsals. I’m going to miss these memorable experiences so much when I graduate.”
Junior, Kirsten Schafer, who plays Janis Ian, is most recognized for gaining a lead role in Spamalot during her freshman year, and for carrying the musical vicariously through her presidency. “This experience has been like no other, and I’m so grateful to the production team, the cast, the pit, and the crew for helping make this show amazing, and truly bringing the show to life. I’ve enjoyed this process tremendously and I love my Mean Girls family so much!”
Sophomore Scott Keifer, who is a part of the ensemble has been doing the musical since he was a freshman noted, “I love it! My fellow castmates are super talented and we’ve all worked hard to create a really good show!”
