Looking for Easter egg fillings? With Easter rolling around the corner, we ranked six different popular jellybean brands including: Brach’s, Skittles, Trolli’s, Mike & Ike’s, Sour Patch, and Jelly Belly.
During this upcoming Easter season, an estimate of over sixteen billion jellybeans, with a profit of about four billion USD, is expected to be bought, increasing about 7% each year. With so many jellybeans, one’s bound to be the favorite.
We had roughly twenty-five PMHS students rank their favorite jellybean. While every brand had at least one supporter, Mike & Ike’s was a true fan favorite.

“‘A’ is really fruity and more gummy,” said one student about the Mike & Ike’s.
Another student said, “…it’s like a tropical mango vibe.”
The Sour Patch jellybeans were really divisive across the group due to its sour flavor. Some students even had visceral reactions to sourness.
Adriana scrunched her face saying, “It’s (Sour Patch jellybean) so sour.”
The Trolli jellybeans tasted noticeably different from the others. Some students found that repulsive but for some it made it even better.
“I liked ‘F’ (Trolli’s) the most because […] of the bitterness of the bean.” Ray Gonzalez said after tasting it.
Overall, the Mike & Ike’s were the group’s favorite, and Skittles and Trolli’s were tied for last place. Jelly Belly’s may have been around the longest, but that doesn’t secure them a place at the top.
