Enjoy the sweet rewards of the opening of Broadway’s newest show.

On Friday March 31st the Class of 2018 headed to the city for their annual Broadway trip. With about an hour bus ride ahead with many laughs and memories being made, some had other things in mind. Our first stop was Carmine’s for a delicious dinner. As Pat-Med took over the restaurant the Italian family setting provided a home-like feeling as we all sat a large tables and were served familystyle meals. From one table to the next, it was hard to decide on the best dish. Was it the chicken parm, spaghetti, or the warm and tasty garlic bread?

Towards the end of our dining experience, during dessert, Senior Yadi Corporan would receive a sweet surprise from Junior Amanda Zamora. The waiters teamed up to make this night extra special and help pull off an unexpected and fantastic promposal. With the help from the awesome staff of Carmine’s, Amanda was able to prompose with “Prom?” written out in chocolate. Along with the promposal, two lucky students were also surprised with a golden prom ticket inside their Wonka Chocolate bar. Fun! Krysalee Rafferty and Justin Valverde were the two lucky winners. A pretty fitting promposal and treat for the show we would see.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a show which brought back great childhood memories. The music, characters, sets and costumes made a hit movie into a now hit Broadway show. Overall, this 2018 trip with dinner, a show, tons of sweet surprises, and spending time together as a class really was scrumdiddlyumptious!
