A Busy Day at Carnegie: Events on December 17

There’s something(s) lined up at the Carnegie Teen Center this Friday, and you won’t want to miss it.

From 5-7pm the library’s running a Candy Cane Cordial, featuring Carnegie’s own choir program. Carnegie Choralists is a weekly program started in November by Katie Rahl.

Ms. Rahl a professionally-trained singer and actor, who wanted to “take all the information [she] learned and help [the community] for free”, because she knows firsthand how expensive and how difficult vocal training and getting into acting and theater can be.

So after roughly 2 months of practicing, the Carnegie Choralists are hosting a night of caroling, board games, and candy canes, that’s sure to be a lot of fun.

Also, from 5-6pm, there’s the Gingerbread House Destruction: In the library’s own words, “Decorate your own gingerbread house and then see if it’s strong enough to withstand a sling shot across the Carnegie back lawn.”  The program’s full, unfortunately, but if you ever wanted to see just what it takes to bring down the house, you can stop by near the end to watch the houses get thrown.
