Scholarship and Awards Applications are due January 20th!
The deadline for applications is this Friday! Don’t miss out!
The Scholarships and Awards Application deadline is January 20th at 2:30 pm, and it is fast approaching. If you haven’t already started your application and you plan on applying, start now! The application, checklist and scholarship and award catalog can all be found online, and your application must be typed and printed.
Additionally, if you haven’t already made an appointment to review and submit your application materials, you can schedule an appointment through Student Square here. All students are required to make an appointment in order to submit their application and there are a limited number of time slots available, so don’t hesitate to sign up.
Many students might be discouraged by the idea of applying and writing essays, but Ms. Space, a guidance counselor at Patchogue Medford High School, encourages all students to “take advantage of what the generous community has to offer because the application process is organized and easier than it seems.” If you are having difficulty completing your application, the school has created a video that explains the process, or you can make an appointment with your guidance counselor at some point before Friday the 20th to review your questions.
Plus, 12th Grade Assistant Principal, Mr. Sullivan, encourages students to apply because there is “something for everyone regardless of the path you choose after high school,” whether you’re going to college, trade school, the military, or somewhere else. According to Ms. Space, the total amount of money offered by all the scholarships in the catalog is over $400,000, which offers many types of students a chance to earn funding for their future plans.
All students should take advantage of this, even if you only apply to a few scholarships, because there are many opportunities designed for you to easily earn free money to further your education and career.
