The MVP winner and future Hall famer hailing from the Green Bay Packers organization was ready to make his impact on the Jets offence. However, no one could have predicted that on his first passing play of the regular season, Aaron Rodgers would go down with a season ending injury.
It seems that when the Jets decided to make this historic move in the 2023 offseason, they believed that it would follow. Instead of a Superbowl winning roster, the Jets are now faced with a hole at the quarterback position.
The shocking injury on the first passing play of the regular season for the Jets elicited many reactions from players and broadcasters alike.
Pat McAfee stated, “Man…Jets fans have to have the worst experience as sports fans on earth.”
And Patrick Mahomes (Fellow Former MVP) said, “Hate that, man… Praying for the best.”
The most pressing thought on everyone’s mind (Jets fans or not) is how will the AFC East powerhouse contend without a viable quarterback?
As it stands the starter is Zach Wilson who will most certainly not propel the team to the same heights as Aaron Rodgers could have.
So, what will the Jets choose? A free agent or the former 2nd overall pick Zach Wilson?
And if the Jets choose to sign a quarterback, who will it be? Sports betters interestingly predict that if the Jets were to go out of house, they would sign Colin Kaepernick.
If the name sounds familiar, Kaepernick is a former quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers who has been actively looking to sign with a new team.
Even if the Jets sign a quarterback, it is unlikely that they can replicate the success of Rodgers, and the same can be said if Zach Wilson is the starter.
The odds have dropped from 16-1 down to 65-1 for the Jets to win the Super Bowl and many Jets fans all over have had their hopes crushed.
However, it is important to remember that the Jets have a top five defensive unit in the NFL, two great running backs, and the Offensive Rookie of the Year.
So, while many fans that walk the halls of PMHS may think the season is over, it is important to remember that upsets happen.
No one can say what will happen to the Jets in the 2023-2024 season, all we can do is hope that this team will exceed expectations.

I liked the fact that there were statistics to public opinion and this helped the article stand out along with it’s good title.
