Competiton time! It is something teams work hard for to place high.

For the first time ever Patchogue-Medford Cheerleading will be competing in the fall season for Game Day. Game Day is a competition set up as if you’re at a real game cheering on your team. It’s all about crowd engagement.

Last year we took this routine to just nationals; but now, we compete against local schools.

The time leading up to these is always stressful. Trying to make sure the routine is flawless, and everyone is on count. For the seniors, this is the beginning of the end and as sad as it may be, it’s very exciting.

Putting the work in will all be worth it in the end, and everyone is ready to get this season started.

Kasey Elorriaga, senior team captain says, “I really love that we got into competing game day, we put our all into it every week and it’s seriously starting to show.”

During the home football games at certain time marks, pieces of the routine would be performed, and the crowd loved it! Even if it was just for entertainment and not actual competing, it still helped increase the sharpness and cleanness of the routine.

Competing is never easy, but the team pulls it off fantastically every time and will continue to at each competition.

The team pulled it off at Nationals last year and have high hopes for this upcoming season.

Continuous pushing and preservice will bring the team together and help us make it further than we have ever been.

Freshman Sophia Manz says “Our team puts so much effort into not only the routine looking good but also showing how much they love the sport and each other.”

We truly cannot wait to see what this season and next season will hold for us.
