Are You Drinking Enough Water?
Throughout the busy school day, so much is happening that remembering to drink enough water can be forgotten. Not drinking enough water seems like a fairly small problem, but if this consistently happens you are hurting your body. Your body needs water to function and depriving it of water is not doing you any good.
It is recommended that a person drinks around 8 cups (8 ounces each), this can be easily remembered with the 8×8 rule. There are numerous was in which you could help yourself do this.
Instead of having to keep going to the water fountain, bring a reusable water bottle, if you really want you could bring a 32-ounce water bottle and half of your daily water need is eliminated. Plus, bringing a reusable water bottle is better for the environment that bringing two 16 oz water bottles.
Some signs that point to needing to drink more water are bad smelling breath that is constantly occurring, fatigue, loss of energy, craving sugary snacks, or headaches occurring.
Long term effects of repeatedly not drinking enough water are that your kidneys will start to not function properly then impact on your heart will be soon to follow, metabolism slows, and there is an increased risk of stroke. Not drinking enough water repeatedly is seriously detrimental to your health.
Drinking a healthy amount of water is an easy way to nourish your body, when all is considered it is important to take care of yourself. Even though you may think that constantly not drinking enough water won’t hurt you in the long run, there is evidence that proves that wrong.
Consuming enough water is healthy behavior that is very easy to practice consistently. Some ways that can help you to remember to drink enough water, is setting a daily reminder for it or you can write post it notes and place it in things that you use a lot. Simply put, it is important to listen to your body and drink water when you are thirsty.
