Pat-Med has just announced Spamalot as its 20222-2023 All-School Musical!

Spamalot is an adaptation of the 1975 comedy film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The musical tells the tale of King Arthur in his quest to find the Holy Grail, while diverting from the traditional stories of the legend.

The high school students and staff are very excited and are looking forward to a year where they are not held back by COVID-19 restrictions. It has been about three years since the last normal production.

Junior, Gabriella Mannix, says she’s very happy for this year and that “the musical last year getting cancelled was really sad but now the cast gets to be together and rehearse again.”

Mr. Browning, says “It’s one of the most exciting feelings we’ve had in a while.” He added, “Our community and students have been desperately wanting this for a long time, we are all excited to get back to a sense of normalcy.”

As the school’s new director, this is a very special opportunity for him.

Preparation for the show starts around the end of October with information meetings and auditions. Those auditioning for the cast are expected to attend dance and vocal auditions.

Students not interested in acting also have the opportunity to help and participate by being in the stage crew or pit orchestra.

The show is, “One of the biggest school events of the year aside from Homecoming,” says director Mr. Browning.  “It’s a chance for all kinds of students to get together.”

Like Homecoming, the musical is a great way to create long lasting friendships and get to know people from other classes.

This is a huge milestone for PMHS and one that continues to be a loved event by the community.
