The Red & Black’s newest Editor in Chief, Ceania Gonzales ushers us into another great year!

Dear Reader,

I am grateful and honored to be the new Editor in Chief of the Red and Black.

I am also excited and hopeful for the year ahead of us. Since coming back from a year of immense growth in both the Red and Black and our school broadcast, Raider TV, I hope to continue what we’ve built as a team and see many new, along with the old, faces to help build our newspaper’s esteem reputation.

Additionally, I am ecstatic to welcome our incoming Journalism students as we celebrate the return of PMHS’ Journalism class.

As former Executive Producer for Raider TV, I look forward to a new season of growth and productivity to flow both on and off camera. I am thrilled to see what’s in store for our Raider TV team.

Furthermore, I intend to use the skills I’ve learned as Executive Producer and apply them to my role as Editor in Chief, keeping our site diverse and interesting to keep everyone updated on what is happening at Patchogue-Medford.

My biggest wish this year is to increase student and community involvement throughout our website through Raider TV episodes or highlighted articles. Most of all, I plan to continue to build up our reputation as a newspaper and broadcast and excel together as a team.

Of course, this would not be possible without a large, hardworking, and dedicated team. With the return of old members, new members, and our Journalism class, I am optimistic to see what the year has in store for our Red and Black/Raider TV family.

I want to give a shoutout to the current members of our team who have worked so hard to make the program what it is today.

Lastly, I would also like to thank Mrs. Mckeough and Mrs. Sullivan for giving me this amazing opportunity.

If you are interested or know someone who would make a great addition to our team, please join us at our first meeting!

As always, follow us on Instagram @pmhsredandblack for more updates and information on meetings, events, articles, or episodes!
