Dear Readers,

I want to start this article off by welcoming everyone back to what I hope is going to be a great school year.

I am incredibly honored and grateful to be appointed Editor in Chief of The Red and Black this year. I want to thank Mrs. Mckeough and Mrs. Sullivan for giving me this amazing opportunity and Dr. R for all of his support for our program.

This year, my main goal is to inspire more creativity and productivity within our community. This means bringing in more dedicated and passionate members, as well as increasing the number of articles and multimedia pieces like podcasts, videos, or slideshows being uploaded to the website.

With an increase in fresh and diverse media, we can keep the Patchogue-Medford community entertained and informed. Hopefully, we can even win a few awards that can increase our popularity and drive new members to our team.

Speaking of members, I would like to give a huge shoutout to all of the new, current, and former members of both The Red and Black and Raider TV. Without you all, this program would not be what it is today.

I would also like to thank all of the students taking the Journalism class this year, whose work will also be uploaded to either The Red and Black or Raider TV.

 I am so excited to see where this year takes us, and I welcome all interested students to join us at our meetings.

We are always accepting new members to our growing team, so bring a friend and don’t be shy! There is a place for everyone here with the PMHS media family.
