Today was hard. I couldn’t help but think about how much this virus is really affecting our lives. Especially mine. As a senior, much of the things I was looking forward to have been canceled. It truly hurts to think about it. But this blog isn’t about my problems. I really want to stress the importance of talking with someone you trust about your feelings. No doubt the virus has affected us all in different ways. Keeping your thoughts and emotions bottled up isn’t a good way of dealing with it.

At first, I didn’t really talk about how I felt because I thought my problems were irrelevant to the broader scheme of things. I believed my problems had no significance when compared to the struggles of others who combat and face the virus day-to-day. While this is true in part, it doesn’t mean you can’t share your feelings.

You deserve the chance to open up and express your struggles. So find someone to talk to. For me, that was my parents. If you lost your last season with sports, a field trip that had deep meaning to you, or are stressed in one way or another, don’t bottle up. Sharing your concerns is key to maintaining a good well being during these tumultuous times.

During these uncertain times, it can be helpful to practice honesty and openness with the people we love. For me, that’s my parents.
