Men and Women Pay Homage to Voting Rights Activist

Thousands line up to visit the gravesite of voting rights activist, Susan B. Anthony.

Yesterday, hundreds of American citizens “celebrated their vote” by forming a line in front of Susan B. Anthony’s grave in Rochester, New York.  Their prerogative was to place “I voted” sticker onto the grave of the Women’s right activist, who played a pivotal role in the fight for women’s suffrage throughout much of the 1800s.

Her gravesite would be nearly invisible due to the overwhelming amount of stickers that were placed on it by the end of the day.  The cemetery would in fact recognize that voters were adamant to show their pride and extended the hours of the cemetery until the New York polls closed at 9 PM.

This act of pride for women’s rights would become one of the most talked about aspects of Election day.
