EvoTech is a name you may have been hearing quite frequently around Patchogue-Medford High School recently, as our school’s Virtual Enterprise firm has been plowing through the competition. Most recently, the EvoTech Presentation Team, consisting of Cecilia Amone, Megan Kremer, Cassie McGinn, Samantha Vecchione, Erin Winn, and Matthew Correa, placed within the top four firms on Long Island in the Long Island Championship at American Portfolios. With this immense victory, EvoTech is moving on to compete on the national level in New York City next month.

The company has been making a name for itself all over Long Island. Back in November of 2017, EvoTech won first place for their elevator pitch at LIU Post, earning them $1000. In January of 2018, the oral presentation team traveled to Farmingdale College where they gave a perfect presentation, advancing them to the Long Island Championship at American Portfolio in February 2018, where they ranked within the top four teams on Long Island, advancing them to Nationals at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in April.

Samantha Vecchione, EvoTech’s Financial Controller, had this to say about the team’s success streak. “It’s been tremendous because we’ve come so far along putting so much time and work into being the successful Virtual Enterprise company that we are.” She added, “We’re very proud and excited to take these next steps.” The confidence that the Presentation Team possesses continues to grow as their success carries on, and it is clear to see that they have developed and progressed into an incredible team that is capable of anything through hard work and dedication.

The presentation team hopes to continue their success with a win in New York City as they compete against the best teams from all over the United States. The presentation team has been constantly putting in extra time with Mr. Butzke after school several times a week, as well as during days off from school and over breaks. There is no question that their incredible work ethic has paid off and will continue to do so as they compete at Nationals. The whole team is extremely proud and excited for this opportunity and can’t wait to have one last go in April.
